GENERAL CONDITIONS

(1)    Judging shall be conducted in accordance with the standards laid down by the Society, the judges being selected from the panel of judges.

(2)    All entries are free to financial members of the Society, upon paying the Host Society registration.

(3)    All blooms should be correctly named.  Failure to do so will not disqualify but in the event of aa tie, preference will be given to those correctly named.

(4)    All dahlias displayed must be GROWN BY THE EXHIBITOR and must be from plants that have been in their possession for AT LEAST TWO MONTHS and be free from infestation.  Insects on dahlias is a serious fault, the vase will be removed from show.

(5)    All entries must be staged not later that (10.30am) on the first day of the show unless otherwise stated.

(6)    No protest against a judge’s decision shall be entertained except on the grounds of a marked irregularity.  Any such protest must be lodged with the Show Secretary not later than 3pm on the first day of the show.  The Appeals Committee’s decision if final.  A deposit of $5.00 must be made with any protest which may be refunded at the discretion of the Committee.

(7)    The Appeals Committee shall consist of the Show Manager, Show Secretary with the power to co-opt.

(8)    In selecting the Premier Blooms, judges shall make no award unless the blooms are of sufficient standard.

(9)    Once the blooms have been judged, they cannot be removed without the permission from the Show Manager.   Failure to observe this provision may result in disqualification,

(10) In sections or classes where points Prize is given, points will be allocated as follows: First -  5 points   Second 3 – points Third 1 point per vase.

(11) There will be a limit of three entries in aa class for any one exhibitor.

(12) Intermediate and Novice may enter their own section and Special Classes Open to All (Classes 1- 25) without jeopardizing their status.

(13) Members of the Host Society are permitted to exhibit in the Novice or 1st Time Exhibitors at one National Show only.

(14) All perpetual trophies to be held by the winner for one year unless otherwise stated.  Trophies to be awarded to first place winners only unless otherwise stated.

(15) Awards are subject to availability.

(16) If leaves are to be shown, they must be attached to the stem.

(17) A Premier Bloom maybe extracted from a vase containing a number of blooms with the Show Managers approval.

(18) All three bloom classes to be one distinct cultivar in the Open Section.

(19) All New Zealand raised seedlings must be exhibited under a code.

 

LIABILITY Expert care and attention will be given to all exhibits, but neither the NDS of NZ nor the club hosting the National Show will be held responsible for the loss or damage to exhibits
